Medical Surgical Unit
The Medical Surgical Unit has 21 acute-care beds and is located on the second floor. The Unit provides care to patients who are adolescent, adult, or geriatric and who have a variety of acute diagnoses or require post-operative care. Among these most common diagnoses and illnesses are:

The Medical Surgical Unit’s Health Care Team practices a patient-centred model of care. The patient is at the centre of all decisions made. From admission to discharge, the team’s goal is to optimize an individual’s own abilities, promote a safe transition back into the community and ensure that follow-up care and services are in place. The team also ensures that compassionate and skilled palliative care is available for patients who require that level of care.
