Indoor and Outdoor Visits Now Possible at Fairview Manor
Effective immediately, a COVID test is not required
for you to visit with a resident outside. We will continue to expect every visitor to self-monitor for COVID
symptoms and to refrain from visiting if you are experiencing any of the
- Two individuals are now permitted to
visit with each resident outside.
- Visitors are still required to wear a
face covering and to sit six feet away from the resident.
- All visitors will continue to be
screened including a temperature check
- Visits will continue to be 30 minutes
in length and will require an appointment to ensure that visits are equitable
- There will continue to be one visit
per resident per week
Effective July 22, we will start indoor visits for
residents. A negative COVID swab result
within the past 14 days ARE REQUIRED.

distancing measures will continue to be in place

The visiting hours have not changed. Visits will be scheduled in 30-minute blocks
from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM,
Monday to Friday. To ensure that
residents who do not receive visitors have equal access to activities, we will
continue to try to book appointments in the mornings and evenings as much as
possible in order to free up recreation staff in the afternoons. We appreciate your flexibility in regards to

Fairview Manor is a long-term care home owned and operated by the Almonte General Hospital.
The Manor is a bright and spacious state-of-the-art home to 112 residents.

Fairview Manor is connected to the Almonte General Hospital by a 15,000-square-foot link that houses a cafeteria and kitchen serving Fairview Manor and the Hospital. The link permits residents, staff, volunteers and visitors to move easily from Long-Term Care to the Hospital. To ensure a safe and secure environment for its residents all doors in the Home leading to stairways and the outside of the Home are kept closed and locked. They are also equipped with a door access control system that is kept on at all times.
Fairview Manor is regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada.
In keeping with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, there is no smoking anywhere on the Fairview Manor grounds, including the parking lot. Municipal by-law enforcement officers may, in accordance with the legislation, fine anyone they find contravening the law.
